OFFCUP: the tidy basics, with a frost warning
The OFFCUP does the basics well; a good sensor spot and fresh batteries are all it asks.
Keep the console honest
Sit the display out of direct sun and away from radiators or the oven, or the indoor temperature will read high. A shelf or bedside table away from heat is ideal.
Shelter the outdoor sensor
Fix the sensor out of sun and rain — under an eave or on a north wall — so the outdoor temperature and the ice alert are accurate when you rely on them.
Trust the ice alert in winter
When the frost warning shows, take it as your cue to allow time to scrape the car or wrap up. It's the small feature that makes this station worth a glance every cold morning.
